Project Background
The cannabis industry is a rapidly growing industry with the potential for significant economic impact. As more and more states legalize cannabis for medical and recreational use, there is a need for comprehensive data on the industry to inform policy making, taxation, and regulation. However, the lack of reliable and comprehensive data on the cannabis industry poses a significant challenge to policymakers and researchers. Additionally, economic analysis remains incomplete due to uncertainty regarding whether cannabis is a complement or substitute for alcohol and tobacco. This ambiguity makes it difficult to predict the impact of the cannabis industry on these industries (Miller et. al.).
WA Cannalytics addresses this by
Aggregating cannabis, spirits, and economic metrics in Washington State
Creating curation standards to expand to more states or areas where cannabis is sold legally
Project Scope
WA Cannalytics accepts cannabis and spirits market and tax data collected in Washington State from 2014 Q3 on.
